In some countries
I'd be locked away with madness
and medicated as the day is long,
but luckily I'm not in any of those countries
and the one I'm in at present
is not aware
of me.
Thirty poems a night
and wine until I can no longer see,
when I'm done I grab a knife
from the kitchen
and chop myself another 5am salad
for dinner
as the morning workers frequent
morning showers
and the sun
bleeds through the trees.
