and be glad for their presence

celebrate this flesh
and whatever lies beneath it

the feel of us
and the sound of our breath
in the darkness

all these things precious
and temporary

let us embrace them
but not

make more of anything
than what is there

for fear our hearts should break

take this day and be not concerned
with lack of faith
or direction

take this moment and bless it
in whatever way
you see fit

and continue on to the next
not pausing to worry
so much about the why.
